ConAgra foods today is voluntarily recalling Orville Redenbacher’s Classic Kettle Korn flavor ready-to-eat popcorn packages because they may contain an undeclared milk allergen. In Roswell, Orville Redenbacher products can be found at places like Kroger, Publix and Target. According to an alert issued by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), some bags may accidentally contain white cheddar flavored popcorn, which contains milk, an allergen, which is not declared on the product label. This recall is only a concern to those who have an allergy or sensitivity to milk. No illnesses have been reported to date, and this is the only Orville Redenbacher product affected. Natura Pet Products is expanding its recall of dry pet food and treats.
Natura Pet Products is voluntarily expanding its recall of dry pet food because of possible Salmonella contamination. The expanded recall includes all dry pet food products and treats with expiration dates prior to and including March 24, 2014. The Salmonella threat is not only for pets consuming the products, but humans handling the products, according to the FDA. The FDA said: Healthy people infected with Salmonella should monitor themselves for some or all of the following symptoms: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea or bloody diarrhea, abdominal cramping and fever. Publix Super Markets is issuing a voluntary recall for the Publix Deli Tri Fruit and Grain Salad, since it may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. Publix received notification of the potential contamination from their supplier, Allison's Gourmet Kitchens. Lean Cuisine, made by Nestlé Prepared Foods Company, has issued a voluntary recall for some of its packages of ravioli because the meal may contain fragments of glass, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. The recall pertains to packages of Lean Cuisine Culinary Collection Mushroom Mezzaluna Ravioli, with a UPC 13800-58358. The production codes are 2311587812 and 2312587812 and the “best before date” is December 2013. Nestlé is taking this action after three consumers reported they had found small fragments of glass in the ravioli portion of the entrée. Nearly three million Toyota vehicles around the world are being recalled due to a water pump problem and defective steering shaft, according to USA Today. Approximately, 2.77 million vehicles are affected by the combined recalls, including 670,000 in the U.S. They include Prius hybrids manufactured from 2004 to 2009. Car owners can bring their vehicle into a dealership to be inspected and, in some cases, have the steering intermediate extension shaft or the electric water pump replaced, according to Toyota. Migraine sufferers, relief is in sight. Novartis, the manufacturer of Excedrin, announced Monday in an email to customers that Excedrin Migraine, which has been off the market since a January recall, is being shipped to stores this week. Novartis said that Excedrin Migraine should be back on store shelves in the next few weeks. The pharmacy department at Publix in Kings Market in Roswell does not have a set date yet for when the product will be back on the shelves. Ask pharmacists for generic alternatives. Excedrin Migraine was one of several products recalled by Novartis in January after an internal investigation and complaints of "broken gelcaps, chipped tablets and inconsistent bottle packaging line clearance practices." Love that peanut butter? Check your pantry for products on the latest peanut butter recall - the list has again been expanded by 139 products. Sunland, Inc. has voluntarily added every peanut product made in their plant in reference to the March 1, 2010 date. It has been expanded to include ALL products manufactured in its Peanut Butter Plant after March 1, 2010. These products have led to around 30 cases of Salmonella poisoning in 19 states. Though none of these cases are in Georgia, the products are sold locally.
