Five Roswell Schools Fail AYP

Fulton County Schools remains above the state average for AYP.

Though most area schools reached their Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) targets, five Roswell schools did not, according to the Georgia Department of Education's AYP report released yesterday. The annual report is used to help ensure students throughout the country are proficient in math and reading by 2014. Mimosa Elementary, Centennial High School, Roswell High School, Hillside Elementary School and Holcomb Bridge Middle School each failed to meet their AYP goals for the 2010-2011 school year. It was the second year in a row Mimosa, Centennial and Roswell did not reach their targets, according to the report. A condensed list of DUI, drug arrests and incidents within Roswell over the past week.

The following is the DUI and drug arrests over the past week, as well as a compilation of the most notable incidents which occurred within the city. None of the persons named have been convicted of any crime.   DUI: Angela Bussa, 36, of Alpharetta, was arrested for DUI on Dec. 19 on Holcomb Bridge Road. Michael Wasilewski, 26, of King Wood, TX, was arrested for DUI on Dec. 13 on Alpharetta Highway. Ingmar Bertschy, 41, of Marietta, was arrested for DUI on Dec. 13 on Woodstock Road. DRUGS: Anthony Green, 21, of Villa Rica, was arrested for marijuana possession on Dec. 19 on Holcomb Bridge Road. Jared Ribbler, 23, of Alpharetta, was arrested for marijuana possession on Dec. 15 on Nesbit Ferry Road. John Lopez, 21, of Roswell, was arrested …
