Greenlee is a female Lab/shepherd mix who is 10 months old and weighs approximately 35 pounds. Greenlee is spayed, up-to-date on all her shots, is crate-trained, as she sleeps in her crate at night. She is also house-trained, with reminders to "pick a spot" when she is outside to do her business. Greenlee came to Angels Among Us Pet Rescue from a rural shelter where she was turned in as a "stray." When she was rescued by Angels Among Us, she was around 6 months old, thin and very sick. Additionally, she was extremely afraid of everything and everyone. Affectionate tortoiseshell feline is ready for adoption.
Sweet Jasmine, a young tortoiseshell cat, was rescued from an animal control facility last summer. As the shelter worker was cleaning her cage, she cried for his attention and jumped into his arms. At that point, our visiting volunteer knew we had to save her. Jasmine stayed with our cat program coordinator for the next 3 months until she found an adoptive home. Sadly, we recently received an email asking us to take her back because of some litter box issues. We quickly found out that Jasmine had developed a urinary tract infection, which had caused her to urinate outside the box. (Cat owners should always take their cat to a vet when there is a sudden change in litter box habits!) At any rate, that issue was quickly resolved once she …
Rescued from an animal shelter, two young litter mates are ready for adoption.
Brantley and Brayden were saved from a shelter with their two sisters, Eloise and Eleanora. All four puppies went to the same foster home and the sisters were adopted quickly. Both Brantley and Brayden are almost a year old and each weigh about 40 pounds. The vet thinks they won’t get much larger than they are now. They are sweet young dogs and get along very well with the foster’s two children and her own two dogs. Brantley is cute, with black and white markings on his chest and face. He also has white feet. Brantley loves to play with sticks, pine cones and any toys. He also loves to play tug of war and tosses his ball up in the air by himself. Meet Blake, a beautiful Golden Retriever/German Shepherd mix available through Angels Among Us Pet Rescue. Blake is approximately 1-2 years old and is such a stunning dog when you see him in person. He has a beautiful combination of golden brown fur, with tips of dark black along the edges, and the most beautiful golden brown eyes you'd ever want to gaze into. Blake obviously was blessed with the best traits of both breeds, and it shows when you meet him. Blake is a calm boy who is so sweet, walks great on a leash, doesn't chew or destroy his toys or anything else in his foster home. He is also house trained. 'Jimmie Lou' and 'Little Girl' need new home after elderly owner died.
"Jimmy Lou" and "Little Girl" were treasured household pets until their elderly owner died, leaving these little 6-year old Chihuahua/Fox Terrier mixes with no one to care for them. For a period of time, they were placed in a small fenced enclosure outside the deceased owner's home, and left there even in the rain and cold weather. Angels Among Us Pet Rescue stepped in and were able to save these sweet little girls, along with their brother (who has since been adopted). Since that time, they have been in a loving foster home while waiting for their forever family. Both dogs weigh about 10 pounds, are quiet, well-mannered, walk well on a leash, and are very good with both kids and dogs. They are also used to cats (whom they generally …
Sweet 5-year-old beagle has had a sad life.
Polly is a sweet 5-year-old adult beagle who must have had a very sad life. Angels Among Us Pet Rescue first learned about her when she was in a shelter and was being treated for heartworm disease. Poor Polly acted like she had never had the slightest bit of attention or a kind word. Now she is in a foster home where for the first time in her life she is experiencing love, and she is in seventh heaven. She even has her own toys to play with. Polly has big soft eyes and long floppy ears. Her foster mom says that she has her own vocabulary and can make the most incredible sounds when she is talking to you. Polly is both crate-trained and house-trained. She does very well with the other dogs in the household, but gets a little too excited …
Charlie was kept in dark basement for 13 years.
Angels Among Us Pet Rescue is looking for a very special person or family for Charlie, a lovely 13-year-old Cocker Spaniel. Angels participated in the rescue of Charlie, who was originally acquired by a couple for their granddaughter. Once the granddaughter lost interest in her new puppy, Charlie was banned to a room in the basement, and only received human companionship when he was fed. The room was kept dark, and Charlie was never allowed outside. Fortunately, a Good Samaritin discovered Charlie's plight, and convinced the elderly couple to relinquish Charlie to Angels. He was immediately taken to a veterinarian, where he was evaluated and provided essential medical care. He is now in a temporary foster home, and all involved in his …
