With local and national leaders looking on, medical device company CorMatrix Cardiovascular cut the ribbon on a new North Fulton facility Monday, April 29. The company, which develops "innovative biomaterial devices that harness the body’s own innate ability to repair damaged heart tissue," recently opened larger corporate headquarters and lab facilities off Old Ellis Road in Roswell. Shareholders, including CorMatrix board member former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, attended the important ribbon cutting alongside local political leaders and the Roswell Business Alliance. Local resident Karen Braddy officially opened her new Canton Street shop, Sweet! Roswell last Friday, Oct. 19 with the Roswell City Council and Roswell Business Alliance at her side. North Fulton Hospital and commercial real estate developer Duke Realty hosted a grand opening event for the North Fulton Medical Plaza last night. The new 52,000-square-foot medical office building will enable the hospital to enhance outpatient care to suburban Atlanta counties. The ribbon-cutting ceremony showcased two of the hospital’s core outpatient facilities - the Pain and Spine Center and Roswell Imaging Center. Roswell will celebrate the new Oak Street Streetscape with a ribbon cutting Tuesday, Nov. 1 at 11:30 a.m. near the intersection of Bush and Oak streets. The streetscape includes a multi-use path on the south side of the street and a pedestrian sidewalk on the north side, decorative street lighting, furniture and landscaping. Utility lines that once crowded the sidewalk have been moved as well. The streetscape project was built at a cost of $1.4 million. Over $950,000 came from the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program, funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), and the rest was funded by the city.
