Attempted Rape Suspect Sought

The suspect is believed to have suffered multiple stab wounds and may seek help from a hospital.

Roswell Police is looking for a man who tried to rape a 15-year-old girl early Sunday morning. Isauro Hernandez-Acosta, 30, is suspected of attacking his girlfriend’s daughter around 5:30 a.m. at the Crossings at Woodbridge Apartments located off Old Holcomb Bridge Way in Roswell. Lisa Holland of the Roswell Police said as he tried to allegedly rape the teenager, the girl screamed, her mother heard her and rushed in to fend off the boyfriend. The mother did so by cutting and stabbing him several times with a knife. Police believe the suspect fled on foot from the apartment complex, as he does not have a vehicle. Two Roswell Police Officers Wreck Responding to a Call

The officers were both on their way to an accident scene on Ga. 400, reports the Atlanta Journal Constitution.

The Atlanta Journal Constitution is reporting two separate Roswell Police cruisers wrecked while responding to an accident on Ga. 400, Monday, Feb. 4. The first responding officer collided with another vehicle at Holcomb Bridge Road and Market Boulevard and the second officer struck a pedestrian at Holcomb Bridge and Grimes Bridge roads, according to ajc.com. The first accident did not have any injuries, but the pedestrian was taken to North Fulton Hospital in stable condition and the officer who hit him was taken for x-rays of the knee.

Stormy, Wet Weather Causes Walmart Sign Collision

The Roswell Police Department issues word of caution after wreck on Mansell Road following a day of tornado warnings.

Roswell Police Department is reminding motorists not to rush during wet weather, on their Facebook page. The driver of the vehicle complained of minor injuries, according to RPD Spokeswoman Lisa Holland. They wrote: Roads are wet and slick. Allow yourself extra time to get to your destination so you aren't in a rush. Be careful out there! The warning comes after a day of tornado warnings and devastation, including a fatality, in Adairsville.

Trouw Nutrition USA and Kevlar for K9s donated the over $800 vest.

The Roswell Police Department is the proud recipient of a new Kevlar bullet proof vest for its K9 officer, Bruno. The vest, which costs $840, was was donated jointly by Trouw Nutrition USA - a premier supplier of specialty ingredients and nutrients to the U.S. pet food industry - and Kevlar for K9s - a non-profit organization. Bruno is a dual purpose K9 – meaning that he is trained for patrol functions and narcotics detection. His handler, Officer Greg Cooper, said Bruno will use his new vest for high risk situations, since K9s working in law enforcement are put in mortal danger when they are doing their jobs. Police Search for Shoplifting Spree Suspects

The two suspects also snatched a purse in Wal-Mart.

Two suspects were caught on a video stealing a black purse from a shopping cart at Wal-Mart, just before 6 p.m. on Jan. 3. Leaving Wal-Mart, the pair then took a taxi to the CVS located near North Fulton Hospital. They told the driver not to wait because they lived in the nearby Greenhouse Apartment Complex and would walk home.  Inside CVS, surveillance footage catches the pair shoplifting. They left the pharmacy on foot, walking along Alpharetta Highway northbound on the sidewalk.  The case number for the theft is 01-13-000544. Mask-Wearing Man References School Shooting, Scares Workers at Roswell Daycare

The following information was supplied by the Roswell Police Department.

The Roswell Police Department responded to a suspicious person Monday afternoon, Dec. 17. Scott Baluss, a Lawrenceville resident, walked into a daycare center wearing a surgical mask over his mouth and nose. He allegedly stated, "don't worry I'm not going to do a Connecticut thing here," and then started laughing. Workers became frightened by his demeanor and called police. According to Roswell Police, Baluss said he was looking for a daycare for his child. He was arrested for disorderly conduct.

Roswell Detective Graduates from 'The Body Farm'

Det. Ken Kraus was recently recognized for his achievement.

Roswell Police Detective Ken Kraus was recognized by the Roswell City Council this week for his recent graduation from the National Forensic Academy. "The Body Farm" is in the University of Tennessee's forensic academy. It is considered the best forensics training facility in the nation where detectives from all over the country come to study the process of evidence recovery and submission. "Kraus has worked very hard over the past 10 weeks in order to successfully complete this rigorous and demanding academy. We're very proud of him and his accomplishment," the department said in a statement.

Police Seek Silver Dollar Thief

The following information was supplied by the Roswell Police Department.

A man in gray clothing stole an 1885 CC Morgan silver dollar from Antwerp Diamonds on Dec. 12, say Roswell Police. According to CoinTrackers.com, the value of the dollar may range between $600-$1,400. The coin was in a case with serial number 3686269-002 listed on the case. The male was approximately 6’02 with glasses, beard and clean shaved head. The jewelry story is located at 861 Holcomb Bridge Road. If you have any information, please call Det. D. Roswell, Duluth Search for Bank Robber

The following information was supplied by the Roswell Police Department.

An unknown individual is believed to be responsible for two bank robberies in Kroger grocery this year, including one in Roswell. The individual first robbed the Suntrust Bank inside a Kroger in Roswell on January 17, 2012. The second robbery occurred in Duluth on December 8, 2012 at a Fifth Third Bank located inside a Kroger store.
