Life in prison is the certain fate of 22-year-old Tyler Alexander Grogan, the man charged with holding police at bay and terrorizing a Roswell couple. A Fulton County jury convicted Grogan on Wednesday, March 6, of Rape, Aggravated Sodomy, Kidnapping with Bodily Injury, False Imprisonment, Armed Robbery, Aggravated Assault, Criminal Damage to Property in the 1st and 2nd Degree and weapons charges; he was sentenced Thursday afternoon. Calvin Myers, 40, once faced the death sentence for viciously killing his former girlfriend. Instead, he will spend the rest of his life, plus an additional eighty years in prison, says the Fulton County District Attorney's Office. Myers pled guilty and was sentenced Friday morning before Superior Court Judge Henry Newkirk to charges of murder, felony murder, three counts of aggravated assault, possession of a knife during the commission of a felony and criminal damage to property for the 2009 stabbing and beating death of Minka Grogran, 40.
