A new sidewalk will be built on Old Roswell Road and a wireless monopine will be constructed on Swaybranch Drive.
Roswell city leaders approved a contract with a company to build a sidewalk along Old Roswell Road during its meeting on Monday. The City Council approved awarding a bid and signing a construction contract with PE Structures and Associates, LLC for $105,481.01. The company was the lowest bidder for the project. The city received 15 bids ranging between $88,357.55 to $217,824.80 and four were either rejected or disqualified. The project will build a sidewalk to close a cap at a culvert on the west side of Old Roswell Road, about 500 feet north of Commerce Parkway. The Council also:

The city of Roswell will make pedestrian and sidewalk improvements at four locations throughout the city. Travelers may experience delays in the areas with temporary lane closures, however access through the areas will be maintained. The project consists of improvements at these four locations: Construction is expected to be complete by April 2013, weather permitting. These projects will provide approximately 3,570 linear feet of pedestrian improvements, including new or improved crosswalks. Roswell City Council gave the go-ahead, Wednesday, Sept. 12, for city staff to construct sidewalks at four locations within the city, including the area where Magnolia, Canton and Alpharetta streets intersect. Using the final MARTA Offset funds and set aside Sidewalk Connectivity funds, the city will spend $435,981.99 to hire lowest bidder Johnson Landscapes, Inc. to build sidewalks at Hembree Road - a multi-use path - Pine Grove Road, Norcross Street and finally, reconstruct two existing crosswalks at the intersection of Alpharetta Street at Magnolia Street, as well as construct a new sidewalk on the Roswell City Hall property. It's long awaited by MARTA passengers, but Roswell is finally set to "finish the connection" near the Holcomb Bridge/Ga 400 interchange area today, July 25. The project consists of pedestrian improvements along Holcomb Bridge Road at the bridge over Ga. 400 including, sidewalks, crosswalks and pedestrian signals to improve safety and facilitate pedestrian traffic across the Ga. 400 ramps. Roswell began a longterm sidewalk project near MARTA bus routes to improve pedestrian safety and accessibility this week. During the construction, motorists may experience delays in the areas with flagman controlling temporary lane closures, according to city officials. However, access through the areas will be maintained, they say. The first project at Dogwood Road, south of Holcomb Bridge Road, will reconstruct and close gaps along the east side of the road. The Canton St and City Hall sidewalks are being constructed with money that was from Marta for improvements to Marta stops and accessability. I think this is a misuse and diversion of funds and the city should be ashamed of themselves for this action against users of Marta.
