Fellowship Girls Soccer Falls to Paideia

The girls still took runner up in the championship.

Fellowship Christian School came up a little short on Saturday, getting beat out 3-2 by Druid Hills' Paideia School during overtime in the 1A State Championships.

Lady Paladins Play in State Championship Saturday

The game will be played at Kennesaw State University's Fifth Third Stadium on May 18 at noon.

Fellowship Christian School's Lady Paladins have advanced to the 1A soccer state championship for the second year in a row. The game will be played at Kennesaw State University's Fifth Third Stadium on Saturday, May 18 at noon. Paladin fans are asked to wear navy blue for 'true blue fan day' as a show of support.

Fellowship Boys, Girls Teams Win Championship Titles

Fellowship Christian School competes in the AAA Division of North Atlanta Metro League.

Fellowship Christian Middle School girls’ and boys’ soccer teams brought home AAA NAML championship titles recently. In a display of precision passing and excellent teamwork, the FCS girls defeated Mt. Pisgah on Patriot turf by a score of 5-0. "It was an awesome game," said Lady Paladins Coach Christy Goar. "Coach JJ and I were truly impressed by the way the girls came together and played. Their teamwork was impressive." Also, for the second straight year, Fellowship Christian Middle School boys' soccer team won the championship with a 1-0 victory over Pinecrest, finishing the season undefeated. Elite New Soccer Club Partners with Roswell Sports Center

An informational meeting will be held at Wall to Wall Sports Center on April 13. Tryouts for the new club will be held in May and June.

Wall to Wall Sports Center (W2W) in Roswell will soon partner with Southern Soccer Academy (SSA) to offer a new competitive youth soccer club. SSA is the official development partner of European Champions Chelsea FC. Their newest club, SSA Roswell, will operate out of the redeveloped 8.2 acre W2W facility on Cox Road - along the Roswell/Milton border - starting in the fall of 2013. "We have been exploring opportunities to partner with an establish local competitive club over the last six months and we feel that SSA Chelsea, as the largest and one of the strongest clubs in the area, gives us a very strong affiliation," said Jon Conway, owner of W2W. SSA Roswell will serve as a satellite venue for SSA, offering academy level teams for boys …

Roswell Area Students Named 'Athletes of the Year' by the AJC

Emily Sonnett and Kourtney Keegan took top honors in their respective sports this year.

Each year the Atlanta Journal Constitution names high school athletes in each sport as its "Atletes of the Year" - this year, the list included two Roswell area school sports stars. For girls soccer, Emily Sonnett of Fellowship Christian was honored as the top athlete in her sport for this past school year. According to the newspaper, the FCS senior had 25 goals and 12 assists during the 2012 season. Sonnett was also named an ESPN first-team all-American and a member of the Under-18 Women’s National Team. She has signed to play soccer at the University of Virginia. Within girls tennis, junior Kourtney Keegan at Blessed Trinity was 19-0. According to the AJC, she is the No. 1 high school junior girls player in Georgia. Keegan has committed …

Fellowship Falls to First Presbyterian Day School in Finals

The Lady Paladins fell to First Presbyterian Day School on Saturday, May 19, 1-0.

The courageous Lady Paladins played hard, but came up a little short in the championship match up against First Presbyterian Day School on Saturday, May 19, losing 1-0.   Wearing all white, the FCS fans packed the stands in full support of their soccer team in what was dubbed a 'white out.' It was a high spirited game with plenty of fierce plays but luckily no injuries. At the end of the night eight seniors left Paladin field for the final time.  "There were more smiles than tears as they said goodbye though," said team photographer Lisa Webb. "They all recognized what an accomplishment it was just making it to state finals."

GAC Girls Defeat Blessed Trinity in AA State Soccer Championships

Blessed Trinity fell to Greater Atlanta Christian in Saturday's game.

Greater Atlanta Christian defeated Blessed Trinity Catholic High School 1-0 in the AA State Championship for girls soccer last Saturday. Playing on the Titans' turf in Roswell, the Lady Spartans scored early in the game. The AA win is the first state title in Lady Spartan history. Blessed Trinity had won the state title in six of the previous eight years, including last year, which was a 1-0 win against GAC, too.

Fellowship Girls Soccer Moves On to State Finals

The girls soccer team will play First Presbyterian Day School, Saturday, May 19 at 6 p.m.

Fellowship Christian School Paladins girls soccer team advance to the state finals after defeating Pace Academy Wednesday night in overtime.   When regulation time of the game ended in a score of 1-1, that game went to overtime and ended with no further score. A penalty kick shootout crowned the Paladins the victors, 3-1. "There were plenty of cards handed out on both sides but most noticeably was the red card given to the FCS goalie with four minutes left in regulation after a close play," said team photographer, Lisa Webb. "FCS went on to stop three of the Pace penalty kicks with our back up goalie, Emily Sonnett. It was a very intense game to say the least." Centennial Boys Soccer Team Heads to Collins Hill for State Championship

The team plays in Suwanee on Friday, May 18, at 8 p.m.

The Centennial High School boys soccer team will travel to Collins Hill in Suwanee Friday, May 18, to play for the 2012 state championship. It's a hard-faught honor for the team, which won their game against Parkview High School on Tuesday night 5-1. The Knights scored twice off throw-ins and twice on corner kicks, according to the Atlanta Journal Constitution. The school website says the win was inevitable "right from the opening whistle," with skilled playing by the Knights dominating the game. The last time Centennial faced Collins Hill in the finals was during 2009, when several current seniors were freshman, according to the website. They lost the game 1-0, but hope to make up for it tomorrow night. The team's overall record this …

Paladins Girls Soccer Team Head to Semifinals Wednesday

The girls won the game against Aquinas School this past Saturday, May 12; allowing them to move on to the state semifinals.

Fellowship Christian School Paladins are still on the road to a much desired state championship after an impressive 7-0 win over the visiting Aquinas School from Augusta, Saturday, May 12. The team - which is led by eight seniors - has been knocked out of the state tournament by the eventual state champion each of the last two years, including a loss in the semifinals last year. Although the whole team has worked hard to get where they are now, the three Division One signees showed up strong Saturday as Emma Sonnet (ESPN ranked 89) led the defense to another shutout, Elizabeth Johnson (ESPN ranked 106) scored an early first half goal and Emily Sonnett (ESPN ranked 22) led the offense with five goals.
