The students will now move on to a district spelling bee at the end of the month.
Nearly 70 students in grades 4-8 represented their schools in several competitive rounds during the 2013 Fulton County Schools spelling bee held Feb. 2 at Ison Springs Elementary School. Alina Baiju from Hopewell Middle School was crowned the winner after she edged out tough competitor Sean O’Neal from Findley Oaks Elementary School. She had to correctly spell ‘belligerent’ to win the title.
