Robert Hill could face up to 10 years in prison.
Robert Hill, a Roswell resident, pled guilty Wednesday to selling more than $9 million in stolen merchandise from an online eBay store over the course of 10 years, according the AJC. Hill used an Alpharetta storage facility to keep the merchandise, which knowingly supplied by "fraudsters." He would then ship the high-value goods, such as electronics and golf clubs, to customers all over the country at just under retail value. The AJC reports: Hill faces up to 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000. The court also has added a provision to potential sentencing that Hill forfeit more than $44,000 in cash, the contents of a pair of bank accounts valued at more than $47,000, a 1999 Lexus RS 300, and thousands of dollars worth of …
Local police are assisting several other jurisdictions in theft cases involving a similar suspect.
The Cobb County Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Unit says a man is allegedly breaking into local vehicles - including several in Roswell - to steal credit and A.T.M. cards. Roswell, Alpharetta and Sandy Springs Police departments are working with Cobb County since they believe the man driving a black 2001-2006 Chevrolet Tahoe with aluminum five spoke rims has allegedly committed similar crimes locally. The vehicle's license plate is said to have possibly been covered or have had a paper drive-out tag on. Roswell Police Department Spokesman James McGee told Roswell Patch that the department is currently working one similar case.
