New Urbanism Authority to Host 'Curbside Chat' in Roswell

The nationally recognized program, brought here by RoswellNEXT, will be the next Town Hall Roswell meeting, April 25.

For its April Town Hall Roswell meeting, RoswellNEXT will partner with Strong Towns, a Minnesota-based organization that promotes a model to help towns become financially strong and resilient. Dubbed a "Curbside Chat" by Strong Towns, the meeting will cover the causes and impacts of the current economic crisis, as well as review past ideas about suburbia and potential strategies that could be adopted to adjust to the new realities faced by cities across the country. Roswell is Changing Say City Leaders

The first Roswell NEXT Town Hall on Thursday evening went over some of the ways the city is changing and will improve over the next several decades.

Roswell has and will continue to change in the coming years, said a panel of city leaders during the first Roswell NEXT Town Hall meeting. The challenge is now influencing a change that builds community. It was a full house at the Historic Roswell Cottage for the meeting, Thursday evening, Feb. 28, which was open to Roswell NEXT members, as well as the public. Roswell NEXT Town Hall Takes a Look at City's Future

The town hall forum is Thursday, Feb. 28. Registration costs between $5-$15 per person.

The city's newest civic group, Roswell NEXT, will begin its series of Town Hall | Roswell meetings this Thursday with a look into the city's future. Four speakers will discuss the elements of Roswell's potential development over the next five to 10 years, including: The forum is the second of Roswell NEXT's monthly gatherings, which will alternate between two formats: Town Hall | Roswell - a roundtable discussion of ideas and issues impacting the city - and What’s NEXT - a more social networking event. This month's Town Hall | Roswell will take place Thursday, Feb. 28 from 7 p.m.-10 p.m. at the Roswell Historic Cottage, 972 Alpharetta Street.
