A report recently released by the Consumer Product Safety Commission estimated there were 193,200 toy-related injuries to children younger than 15 years of age in 2011. Of those estimated injuries, approximately 44 percent were categorized as lacerations, contusions, or abrasions of some kind. When it comes to toy-related injuries, the head and face area is the most commonly affected area of the body. Individual branches chose local charities to support.
Recognizing that there are literally thousands of families in desperate need of assistance during the holiday season, Bank of North Georgia is hosting a Holiday Toy Drive through Dec. 16 at all 46 branches in metro Atlanta. Last year, a total of 2,787 toys were collected through this program and this year each individual branch has chosen a local charity to support “Bank of North Georgia is very much at the heart of community life in Metro Atlanta, supporting those institutions and programs that make the communities we serve desirable places to live and work.
