The potential for winter weather brings with it the potential for emergency situations. The Georgia Emergency Management Agency’s Ready Georgia campaign wants residents to be prepared and recommends residents consider following these tips. The city of Roswell has readied itself for the onset of winter weather headed our way Sunday and Monday.
The Roswell Fire Department is prepared for the potential winter weather headed our way Sunday night, said Roswell Fire Chief Ricky Spencer. "Many of our fire and rescue trucks are equipped with 'on spot' chains and alternate cables if the snow gets too deep," he said. Additionally, the city's Emergency Management Agency (EMA) has been actively monitoring the forecast and the radars along with the rest of North Georgia to see just how bad this predicted winter storm will be. "In the event the call volume warrants, we will activate our Emergency Operations Center to coordinate all of the city of Roswell departments as one, so that we can salt/sand the streets [and] cut trees out of the roadways if the ice accumulates," said Spencer.
