Keep Others Warm, Donate a Coat at Kroger

The 2013 Project Overcoat runs through Jan. 19.

Kroger’s Atlanta Division is teaming up with several local businesses and charities to keep families warm during the cold winter months in Georgia. The 2013 Project Overcoat campaign runs through Jan. 19, according to a press release from Kroger. During that time, Kroger customers and associates are encouraged to bring new or gently used coats to any store location throughout metro Atlanta. Partners with Kroger include: the Atlanta Mission, United Way and Kiss 104.1FM, FedEx and WAGA FOX 5. North Fulton Charities Hosting Warm Coat Drive

Coats and accessories can be dropped off on Oct. 25-26.

Fall is here and the winter months are fast approaching. For many families who are without winter clothing, this can be a challenge while waiting at the bus stop, waiting on public transportation, or walking to school and work.  North Fulton Community Charities (NFCC) is reaching out to the North Fulton community asking everyone to support its 2012 Warm Coat Drive. NFCC is collecting new and gently used coats and accessories for adults and children. Last year the charity was able to provide some 300 families living in North Fulton with coats, jackets, scarves, mittens and caps for every member of the family.  New and gently used coats, jackets and accessories can be dropped off at the NFCC Holiday Distribution Site, 1425 Market Blvd., …

Hillside Makes and Collects Over 300 Blankets and Coats

Parents, family and friend dropped off 305 blankets and coats during the annual blanket drive at Hillside Elementary.

Students from Hillside Elementary School in Roswell participated in a Kids Keeping Kids Warm Drive campaign during November, collecting over 300 blankets and coats for local charities. The drive was part of a school-wide character study on gratitude and generosity that is part of the Chick-fil-A Core Essentials program.   “It was amazing to see the generosity of the students, staff and parents at Hillside,” said John Anderson, Hillside Elementary School interim principal. “This project was the perfect opportunity to teach our students about showing gratitude for what they have and generosity in giving to others.” Every class in the school made their own fleece knot blankets, which were donated to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta to use as …
