Just a few weeks after the deadline given for a solution to the debt ceiling problem for the country, Sen. Johnny Isakson, R-GA, will speak at the North Fulton Chamber's Eggs & Enterprise Breakfast. Isakson will be the keynote speaker on Aug. 23 at the Country Club of the South in Johns Creek, said Brandon Beach, the president and CEO of the chamber in a news release. Chamber members LexisNexis and Verizon will sponsor the event, which is open to members and non-members. Isakson began his business career in 1967 when he opened the first Cobb County office of a small, family-owned real estate business, Northside Realty. Several rising sixth and seventh graders at Roswell's Crabapple Middle School were recently part of the American Grassroots Coalition's first television advertisement, which has yet to air. In the ad, titled "LemonAid Anyone?," the group of middle school-aged children can be seen selling lemonade from a front lawn stand, worried over their families' financial futures and how they will repay the national debt. On its website, the Marietta-based coalition describes itself as supportive of the Cut, Cap and Balance initiative and holds fast to "three core principles and values: fiscal responsibility, constitutionally limited government, and free markets."
