NONSENSE!!! I don't see any nonsense in investigating an organization (the IRS) that is supposed to be NON-POLITICAL, but was found to be targeting and punishing certain groups and individuals because they did not "agree" with this administrations agenda. That sir, is what communists do. And this isn't North Korea or Cuba.
It should scare the crap out of every American that a "political party" is attempting to use the power of IRS to intimidate and silence their opponents. Nixon was impeached and resigned because of it. This deserves to investigated. To violate our First Amendment rights by trying to "silence" the oppostion is appalling and crosses the line. Congress needs to make sure those who were involved are held accountable and approriate actions taken to make sure that they never have an opportunity to do it again.

ReplyLet's understand what this truly is....a blatant and obvious message to the American people that the President doesn't care about you. You seriously don't think they could have found cuts elsewhere in the White House? But of course they won't do anything that would affect their lifestyle. Maybe Michelle could quit taking vacations for a year....or maybe they could cut household staff, I'm sure there are hundreds of things they could have done. The message, per Marie Antoinette, "Let them eat cake".

ReplyBoo-hoo-hoo....everyone is crying about these cuts and at the same time yelling about the deficit.
Can't have it both ways folks....cuts are tough...but they'll even be worse when we don't have choice. At least now....we can pick and choose.
If you want the country to survive....we're just going to have to learn to live with less and suck it up! Look at what the "greatest generation" had to sacrifice in order to help this country survive through the Great Depresseion and WWII.
Truth is we're too spoiled, pampered and babied. It's time for all of us to grow up and face the difficult choices.

ReplyIf the people in the White House, were really concerned about the people of this country, they wouldn't be using scare tactics to threaten us about the effect of the cuts. Instead they would be reassuring us that they would do everything to make sure the cuts didn't hit services that effect the people.
If the people in the White House, were really concerned about the people of this country, they would look at this as an opportunity to get the administration in order by eliminating waste, streamlining processes, improving procedures and eliminating unnecessary (no value) spending.
If the people in the White House, were really concerned about the people of this country, we wouldn't be in this mess......

On the article Should Drone Attacks Be Allowed on American Citizens Overseas Under Certain Circumstances?

It's amazing how people can turn 180 degrees. I remember after 9-11 and the capture of terrorists that were sent to Guatanamo Bay, and liberals demanding that they have the "right" to due process under our criminal justice system, even though they were enemy combatants from a war and weren't American citizens.
Here that....these people were NON-AMERICAN citizens and we were giving them the same protection under the Constitution as we would to American Citizens.
But now....it's OK to deny an American citizen their Constitutional rights simply based on the fact that the President "said so".
Now that's messed up......
That's screwed up!

ReplyWe are a nation of laws. And when the President decides that he is not going to obey the Bill of Rights or uphold the Constitution in regard to due process and the fundamental right to life that is guaranteed to all American citizens, then we should all be wary and concerned.
Allowing one man to make decisions about whether a citizen lives or dies based on oppostion to the government or potentially even him is very scary. Sure...someone will say but we are talking about terrorists. OK then, what is the definition of "terrorist"? Are the Westboro Baptist Church terrorists? Are the Black Panthers terrorists? Is the KKK terrorists? After all, these groups can be somewhat crazed and threatening. They all are listed as a terrorist organization....so the question begs....would it be OK for the President to send in drones to kill their members?
I'm not saying what's right or what's wrong....I'm just saying that we need to be very careful and very thoughtful about the potential for abuse of giving one man, the President, the power to be able to murder American citizens on his whim, with no due process or guarantee of the right to life.

ReplyMy my my...seems anger runs rampant on the liberal side. They can't state their point without belittling people and race-baiting. Oh and by the way.....your current President also has no problem of endlessly printing money and spending it. And what's even worse than dropping bombs on third world (aka terrorist) counties, he has killed American citizens without due process and is trying to justify HIS RIGHT to continue doing it. The "Blame George Bush" argument is no longer valid with what this President is doing. Bush may have condoned waterboarding terrorists, but at least he didn't kill his own citizens without due process. You tell me, which is worse?

Again, tell me the agencies and I'll take the time to look. And you do have a neighborhood watch....tell me, are you involved with it? Or are you one of the many people who just sit back and expect everyone else to do the work?

Well sir, show me the sources, why should I contact the Lilburn PD when apparently you have them at your fingertips? And don't be childish by resorting to personal attacks, when you feel challenged.

First, using the race card does a disservice to men like Martin Luther King who believed that a man should be judged on the basis of his character and NOT his skin. People who call other people "racists", should heed the advice of my mother, "Takes one to know one." Racism in any form is wrong and can not be justified...PERIOD!
Second, "Repubs only care about being in power". So then why is this Democratic administration being accused of targeting thier opponents by using a NON-POLITICAL organization (the IRS) to silence opposing views? Is is a desperation to BE in POWER?
Thirdly, some of the biggest businesses in this country (insurance companies) are going to get richer thanks to this administrations collusion with them through Obamacare. Contempt for business wasn't shown either by this administration when they bailed Wall Street out.
Just pointing out that you shouldn't be a hypocrit. Both parties are guilty of the same things. The Democrats aren't "holier than thou". And neither are Republicans.
If this is to be a "government by the people and for the people", then we need to quit electing minions who follow thier political party....but instead elect people that will do what best for every American.
Unfortunately....I don't think there are enough people with that kind of courage in our country today. We've picked sides, put up walls and continue to attack one another. Divide and conquer has won and we may have reached a point of no return.
