ReplyWhen the kids were little, the neighborhood moms convinced the kids that when the music was playing the truck was actually out of ice cream and heading back to the "shop" to get more. That concept only lasted a couple summers!

On the article Moms Talk Q&A: Birthday Parties

ReplyI am especially sensitive to this topic. With triplets I have had several years when I did 3 separate parties over the course of one weekend because I wanted them all to be treated as individuals and not lumped together as a collective group. My oldest daughter turned 14. For her birthday I just asked what she wanted to do. It was very simple. She wanted to go to MagiQuest with 2 friends and just goof around and I have fun. So that's what they did followed by dinner at the now closed Ed Debevic's. as for the 3 who are now 11, when they have parties I always try to keep the budget the same for each of them. They can choose to have a partywith that money or just take the money we would have spent. They have always picked a party. We've done bowling at the Tivoli, dodge ball at The Perfect Swing, paiting pottery, home party sleepovers, YMCA, you name it. I let them pick their themes as well.
