Concert: Atlanta Baroque Orchestra opens season with “Irregular Pearls: Music from the Time of Vermeer”

The Atlanta Baroque Orchestra
opens its 2013–2014 season, titled “Playing with Others: A Year of
Collaborations,” with a performance under the direction of Artistic Director
Julie Andrijeski on Saturday, Sept. 7, at 7:30 p.m. at Roswell Presbyterian
Church.  The performance will feature a
concert of music by 17th-century masters from the time of Vermeer that will add
a musical dimension to the High Museum of Art’s blockbuster exhibition “Girl
with a Pearl Earring: Dutch Paintings from the Mauritshuis.”  An informal pre-concert talk will begin at 6:45 p.m.  Tickets are available online at
atlantabaroque.org, or at the door on the evening of the performance.
