"Life in the 1860s" Living History

Come to Barrington Hall on the fourth weekend of
June, Saturday and Sunday the 22nd and 23rd, and step back in time to the 1860s. There will be civilians and soldiers from the mid-19th century in period clothing. Soldiers of both the Union and Confederacy will be on hand to demonstrate and talk about a soldier’s life during the Civil War. Artillery
pieces will be on display and Cavalry soldiers with their horses will be available to speak with. 


A very special guest the “Reverend Pratt,” the
founder of Roswell Presbyterian Church, will speak from the back porch of Barrington Hall.


“Life in the 1860s” will also feature a children’s
activity area, demonstrations of 1860s formal dancing and music of the period. The Eighth Regiment Band of Rome, GA will perform on Saturday, June 22nd. There will also be a presentation of period correct clothing for young women
and a display of 1860s flags.

The Cub Scouts will have a display of scouting
activities to include tracking, woodcraft, camp life and patriotism. The Girl Scouts will have a display of 1860s girls clothing. Food and drink will be available. Please call 770-640-3855 to ask questions.
