No More Silence: A Call for Remembrance and Resolve

No More Silence: A Call for Remembrance and Resolve

Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America and Unitarian Universalist Metro Atlanta North (UUMAN) are co-sponsoring a commemoration of the first anniversary of the tragedy in Newtown, Connecticut.   We believe there has been too much silence in this country about gun violence. On December 14, we will honor the 26 lives lost at Sandy Hook Elementary School and the thousands of Americans lost to gun violence this year with a moment of No More Silence. We will gather for a short program culminating in a bell-ringing to remember the victims and show our resolve to continue speaking out until meaningful action is taken to make our country safer.
TIME: 9:35 AM -- the exact time the Newtown tragedy began.
DATE: Saturday, December 14, 2013
LOCATION: UUMAN -- Unitarian Universalist Metro Atlanta North -- front churchyard and patio
11420 Crabapple Rd Roswell, GA 30075
We encourage you to bring a bell from home so that you can participate in the bell-ringing. Please note that this is a simple and solemn event, not a political rally. Please refrain from bringing signs, buttons or other items of a partisan or political nature.
