Microbrewery Change Earns Initial Passage

The proposal would not allow for retail sales but for manufacture in commercial areas.

A text amendment that would permit non-retail microbrewery activity in certain commercial areas of Roswell was approved on first reading by the Mayor and Council Monday night.

The proposal, which passed by a unanimous 6-0 vote, must be formally adopted on second reading next month in order to take effect.

The amendment allows only microbrewery manufacture, not retail sales. In addition, microbrewery activity would be permitted only on property zoned for C-3, or Highway Commercial District, use.

See the attached PDF for a summary of other action from Monday's council meeting.
